Learn about the two Scuba programs we offer at NSA Annapolis—Discover Scuba and the PADI Open Water Classroom and Pool Training! We hope the information will answer some of your questions about learning how to scuba dive. We want to shed some light on some common questions, so that you can get started diving today. Bring your questions and meet our instructor of the courses.

Discover Scuba

South Pool (across from Gate 8, USNA)
The Discover Scuba Diving experience is the perfect program for those looking to try something new this year. It is designed for those who have no experience with scuba diving, but want to know what it’s like to breathe underwater. During your adventure, you’ll master some basic concepts and scuba skills.
The course is roughly an hour of instruction out of the pool and 1.5 hours in the water.
Requirements:
- Participants must be able to tread water and have moderate swimming ability.
- Participants must complete a waiver before the program begins.
- Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
- Bathing suit
- Towel
- Sunscreen
- Water
$165 LIBERTY
During this course you will learn basic scuba skills, and develop your understanding of scuba diving. Including, how to use basic scuba gear, and standard accessories. You will cover what you need to know about basic scuba diving skills, terminology and safety procedures.
