Sailing Lessons

Weekend Basic Keelboat sailing courses for the season will run weekly as demand requires and as instructors are available from Memorial Day through Labor Day Weekend.

The Marina offers our Basic Keelboat/Skipper "B" sailing qualification classes. Classes start on Friday evenings from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. with classroom time and then the students are out on the water on Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Once the student passes the course, they are allowed to rent our 24-foot Rainbow sailboats.

In conjunction with this course, the student can earn their American Sailing Association (ASA) 101 Basic Keelboat Certification by taking and passing the ASA 101 test. All of the information that is needed to pass this test in taught during this two and a half day class. This certification widely is accepted throughout the world. This certification will give the student the ability to use their qualifications worldwide and to build onto their ASA portfolio as their skills improve and they attend more challenging classes. The class fee includes a lifetime ASA membership, the ASA logbook and the ASA 101 exam. Class reservations are now being taken for the entire summer. Advanced registration is required as there are class size minimums that have to be met.
